God Is In the Hearts of All

My hope emerged once I stepped out of the box because I felt God in my heart.

Because we hope, we dream more, we envision the greatest good for all the people in the world.  That is such a marvelous wish I wish we could each take it upon ourselves to wish it.  Should you wish to wish it, let  me tell you how it can come about.  It emerges as if in a dance that you set the rhythm for the music felt deep in your heart.  There is a certain excitement to think the improbable could be possible.

“We shall find peace. We shall hear angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds.”
_ Anton Chekhov

I found the wish for the greatest good inside the red box.  When I curiously opened it, I thought of Pandora’s box filled with the evils that fled to flood the world though at a different time blessings were scattered.  Both stories gave me pause.  I wondered if I should open it, if I should take a chance.  One quality said to be immersed in love and faith remained: hope.  The face mirrors my heart; its mustard seed components glisten.

Hope brings the wishes to the forefront in our lives.  The will aligned with God’s stands to prosper as the stars that shine above a midnight sky.  To light the wish born of hope, seeded in faith, can embrace the whole.  However, we are a measure of the immeasurable good awaiting to be given, to be shared as talent by talent no beam unimportant, each one a glorious spark of joy in service at the core.

God is at the heart of all our wishes for the ultimate good of humanity.  I trust people who labor to do what is best for every American, and still respect the differences of nations independent culturally and philosophically of one another.  Where is the INTEGRITY of the broadcasters who air the stupidly that our President Trump was wrong to congratulate Russia’s President Putin for winning the election in his country their way?  No civilized leader would have ignored the win.  The majority of Americans expect better and want the truth to be revealed rather than manipulated into mean spirited stories.  This is no secret.  Fox News is awake to deliver the information based on the facts and they discuss  the issues intelligently.  The hateful attacks on every progress made by the present President of United States of America hurt the paid pawns.  The followers of the inept will drop. Our Angels

“Oh sovereign angel, wide winged stranger

above a forgetful earth,

care for me,

care for me.  Keep me unaware of danger

and not regretful and not forgetful

of my innocent birth. ” _Edna St. Vincent Millay

When we least expect the unexpected joy, it arrives, and we are surprised.

The thing lifts the very spirit to pump our hearts in dismay. Keep Reading

The Trust Perk

On a blustery, cold afternoon, the night comforter appeared as if brought by the wind to take away the light of day.  The tea kettle was on, and my son stoked the fire totally ready to sit for a supper of onion chicken soup.

We stared at the image and wondered, is it a frog ?  Maybe two?  An obstructed owl or a crab?  The heart spoke out to me.  It was a moment to be captured in a photograph.

The trust perk is in knowing that we can sweep the worries out the door and mop it off the floor.  Worries leave a dusty trace unkind to any luster.  The storms in life are like that.

If the following verse were to be read out loud, one would know the plea so plainly ladened with love, hope, faith, and trust.  All in one breadth, it is an answer to prayer.

” Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” __Philippians 4:6-7

In prayer trust is secured through our filters, by our guideposts.  We choose them as we go through life.  We speak to God, our Father.  We trust His Son, Jesus.   The perk is to be free of worries. Keep Reading

Friendship Garden

Once upon a time someone for as long as it was possible became a friend, and blessed are they because friendships remain.  The token of words exchanged between two hearts stay true.  The heartfelt bond cannot be broken even by misunderstandings, disagreements, or separation.  In fact, the precious moments too dear to relive have indeed a garden in the hearts that cherished them.  Love never ends, and there is love in friendships.

Humans learn and teach from one another from the moment of conception.  Friends recognize one another instantly or over time; they become a wholesome part of one’s character’s.  Perhaps the saddest separation of friends is not in miles, but in the departing from this life.  The finality keeps a candle burning.  Friendships are the lights that light our way, and we always look to feel their care.  Even after having lost touch, the heart that cherished the friendship, honors the love.

It is in time “understanding recovers” any friendship lost in quarrels or disagreements.  No one really knows all that transpires unless the conversations continue.  It is a luxury known to all who invest in keeping in touch because the heart strings just will not let go either way.

” ‘I am a part of all whom I have met,’ ” So, friend of mine, you are a wholesome part; our precious visits, lingering with me yet, are flowers in the garden of my heart. “
__Charles Chapler

Understanding recovers our memory because in time we perceive the past differently.  Perceptions change as experiences gather in the room of considerations.   There are memories that are understood with the passing of time…

” Memory changes the color of memories.”  _Jacques Bainville

This is Friendship Week and dearest Linda Patton from Meadville, Pennsylvania, sent a garden of flowers with quotes honoring all friendships.  I have a box of letters from her as she sent them through thirty-eight  years, and the photos show how the children have grown  , how new members have joined her circle, and I know I could call her today.  I lived through her teaching years, retirement, care of parents, and the quirks of her dear husband, Denny.  His devotion to volleyball and coaching after teaching Geometry as we car pooled together hold memories equal to Linda’s attention to detail at home, in the kitchen, for family, and her notes.  I often only longed to be nearer.  I was strengthened just by seeing her handwriting.  When I painted the gate in the garden, know I remembered all whom I have met.

I miss friends who gladdened me with kindnesses I keep tucked in my heart, and most of all, the ones who shared significant moments in time.  I thank God for each and all.  Their seeds still blossom “in the garden of my heart “.

” We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed.  As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at least a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at least one which makes the heart run over. ” __Samuel Johnson

The Consequences of Abortion

Women’s Day was celebrated a few days ago.

I meant to do a tribute to all the women who made a significant difference in my life; the ones that molded me knowingly or unknowingly by modeling a life I admired for so many reasons.

Some are still on this side of the green grass, God bless them all.I could not find all the photos to stage them properly.

A call came that led me to decide that all women deserve a voice of admiration, counsel, and acknowledgement for being who we are, humans like men though designed to carry a child or more, and also beings with qualities attracting a sense of community.

Women gather people together as if by a nesting instinct.

We have been strong and we have been weak.  We have carried the lives of our own children and those of others.  We have “born” discoveries, inventions, hymns, poems, novels as well as more.  We have taken to living a life in chastity or the opposite.  We are beings who can rise to lift the hearts of the wounded, and we can do the opposite.  Like all humans, males alike, we take our first breadth to live.

Our interests may be vastly different yet we recognize something personal about one another.  Males and females have spiritual and physical yearnings.  It is an understanding seldom addressed and unfortunately seriously abused.  We are more than just bodies.  We have souls.

The subjects of discretion and indiscretion need to be addressed.  The value of intimacy seems not to be treasured.   Again, unfortunately, the carnal desires have taken precedence over the need to respect and honor the purity of souls.  Yes, I am suggesting that the physical desire to be intimately involved with another MUST first filter through the emotional need to feel safe, to feel right, and free just for being totally united in caring for one another’s emotions.  Sex for sex sake destroys a real relationship where peace and joy ought to abide in both hearts.  Intimacy outside of a relationship is troublesome. Angel Mission and Billy Graham

“Everyone entrusted with a mission is an Angel” __Maimonides

Reverend Billy Graham left footprints traced to heaven.  His passionate devotion reached hearts, minds, and souls.  I heard him preach on television, and remember his fervent authority.  His faith unquestionably poured from a source of love.  His divine calling soared as we think of angels.  I think heaven is celebrating his soul’s arrival.  I feel in my own heart God has said, “A job well done.”  He took his life on a mission and the mission to speak to all about the word of God in the Bible, became his angelic quest.  Even so, he humbly kept his wings tucked.

” Once, as we dashed onward like a hurricane, there was a flutter of wings and the bright appearance of an angel in the air, speeding forth on some heavenly mission.”  __ Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Celestial Railroad

When I think of  the mean spirited chatter, I look away and pray for a better world with devoted to God people.  I pray we can give the chaos a piece of our peace, serve it with equal authority, with confidence.  I pray for divine intervention to stop the madness and bring about more visions of angels.  May we be blessed with the mission to make a difference.  May we ask to fulfill it. A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD

Down a mile and a half dirt road is the place to go  to think things over.  My youngest son says it’s right up there with Robert Frost who took the road less travelled.  I find it to be a path we take to unload the unspoken silently and let each step sound off instead.  It’s a mental bath to let the tall trees and shrubs do the foliage hula in the breeze, the wind, or rain…The leaves always respond to the senses in the air and give way for the observer to glide along in safe understanding.  There is a simplicity to the natural surroundings that beckons a person to just be less stressed, more relaxed, and overall comfortable.

These walks may have started as strolls in gardens where the bees and butterflies visit by and by to say bye-bye, and the ever concert of birds depending on the hour, still gives me pause as I wonder.  The awakening happens while taking a closer walk with the outdoors; questions give way to answers and answers bring more questions.  As I allude to the inner conversation one has in the process of trying to resolve serious matters, I suggest that to take a walk is to place the truth on the mantle of the altar.

We cannot see things clearly in the noise and confusion of life.  It is in the sought solitude that we become clear and clean about issues of the heart.  I know what it means to let the moving forward peel and carve into shape not just the weight, but also the miseries, the hurts, and the deceptions.  I know how long I was “young” by how long it took me to figure out that caution is extremely important.  Is it a character flaw to plunge forward to embrace all persons fully trusting everyone’s intentions are pure?  Like a child unaware I have touched the hot cookie sheet and saw mistakes in things said many years after the fact, and feel the burn alike.  We are flawed yet we can yearn to walk  a closer walk with our Lord.  It is on a walk that I have seen the resolve in others even if they were listening to music.  I prefer the surprise of the elements because the chirps and whistles invite me into their circles and widens my perspective of things.  We need to watch our thoughts to know where we are going.
