Be Humbly Honest

“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3: 16

Yesterday I attended the service of the Stations of the Cross presented with fourteen devotions at St. Pius Catholic Church in Hemphill, Texas.  I was filled with the Holy Spirit.  Nuts, eh?  Well, call it what you will, in my soul’s world the ever yearning of “being in the presence of God awareness” completes me with a sureness of peace.  I felt the need to be in a church setting, and the priest with the flock welcomed  me as a blade of grass in their field of spring flowers…  We were young, and older than the youngest, and oldest; it did not matter because our eyes and ears were focused…  and ending the prayers with “do what You will with me”…  The history of this service is remarkable, and the fourteen prayers, each said at the corresponding station, relives the moment.

A Jackie Lawson card came in the mail today brushed in sage olive tree leaves escorted by clusters of white blossoms centered in gold leaning toward a bud of an Easter Lilly in company with others aglow… as a cloud white dove brings forth a choir of angels rejoicing John Stainer’s Cantata “God so loved the World”…  from John 3: 16-18.

The wings of the bird spread to embrace into a flight in a meadow of multi colored spring flowers sprinkled with all but one resting butterfly busily meeting one and all blossoms… beckoning in lead to a cove in a forest  beholding a cherry blooming tree of baby rose petals surrounded in deep green foliage where two stately sterling tree trunks with branches lifting upwards in thanks to heaven… form the design likes of an arched cathedral’s window thoroughly bathed by a golden light, streaming… through three crosses to the altar within…much like the very one I visited yesterday to find fulfilling…  Fulfillment continues to flow as it is poured with love into our lives…

Thank you dearest Cindy and Paul Schumacher for the early Orthodox Easter greeting in Romanian no less !!  HRISTOS a Inviat!

CHRIST is Risen!  Adevarat a Inviat!  Indeed He is Risen!

Be Encouraged

What does it mean to be encouraged, and when do we get it?

Why is it important, and who are those that offer it?

“IT” is all here, in this blog.

You determine which path to take because the how to be encouraged rests inside one’s personal intent to be so.  Our intentions are birthed in our will.  These thoughts have soaked in my tears for many years  They are now presented as if on the platter I searched to find by observing and absorbing.

An Angel delivering the holiest of gifts designed to bring comfort on a perfectly sized pillow. I purchased it from an astrologer, Bethea.

To be encouraged is to feel lifted in the direction of dreams and visions intended to benefit one and all.  The humble person bears great humility so its fruit takes time to ripen.

Life is in the presence of spirit.  Given the free will to act as we choose, regardless of circumstances, ultimately leads us to a new place.  That place is always at the moment we call now.

As most of you may have already heard “the present is the present.”  ( This is why I love the English language!)

Is one’s Spirit, the Soul, aware of conscious or unconscious acts?  Does the soul give a life to live while one’s heart and mind determine the route to take and to learn and teach to fulfill by one, or more of the myriad of possible purposes?  I am suggesting mean spirited purposes are sadly present.  Humans are not perfect.

How can we find the ultimate good reserved for each one of us to achieve?  What happens when we falter?

To seek our God’s wisdom is the way to the truth and the light; however, the choices in the Garden of the Universe encourage us to navigate, and we do.  We are free to choose our way of being in the presence of any circumstance.  I think it is known as the attitude we carry.  We arrive at knowing moment by moment according  to choices made with attitude at hand.  Hand in hand they direct the route we choose to navigate. Forgiveness Hand in Hand with Love

“Forgiveness is the fragrance

the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. ” _Mark Twain

How did this quote become an old friend’s favorite?  Sometimes a quote

speaks to a wound.  The salve borders on the divine because to for-give

is what we need to yield  in order to avoid collision in our hearts.

The Course in Miracles states “Forgiveness is the key to happiness.”

With these two quotes in mind, one may actually step into those comfortable shoes to avoid blisters and the discomfort thereafter.  This reminds me of the benefit of using Vaseline on the feet before sliding them into socks and sneakers.  It is a way of avoiding blisters.

The heart too can be worn down.  The Vaseline prevention of blisters to the feet can be equated to the thoughts that empower to appease irresponsible blows that literally cause damage. Keep Reading

The Bit I Know…and GREAT LENT

“Great Lent is intended to be a’workshop ‘ where the character of the believer is spiritually uplifted and strengthened; where his life is rededicated to the principles and ideals of the Gospel; where fasting and prayer culminate in deep conviction of life; where apathy and disinterest turn into vigorous activities of faith and good works. ”  __WIKIPEDIA

Even though my father was an Orthodox priest, life distanced me from the life I lived before leaving home.  The tapestry is intricately woven with stories created by choices.  We can all take responsibility for some, maybe most.  The colorful and the shadowed defining moments of our lives,  stand to deliver outcomes we revisit.  In the ancient Orthodox Church, the believers aim to obey the Sacraments, and it is daunting to explain without appearing to be on a mission to convert people to the first Christian Church.

My intent is to invite you to meet my understanding about the misunderstandings of Christianity even among Christians.  Since I am not a theologian, please excuse my seemingly shallow though heartfelt observation.  It all begins with the realization that all humans are flawed.  We love one another despite our hurtful ways that cause the chaos we certainly witness in our present society.  Despite the phenomenal technological and scientific progress, humanity is in the process of revisiting the history being denied to be taught as it truly happened even at the fall of the Roman Empire.  Humans have souls in progress and yet due to unknown forces, be they evil or good, we join together in disagreements as well as in agreements with others.  We surrender to survive.  Our minds hold the tools for our survival, and our hearts align with whatever we consciously and unconsciously choose to believe.  The concessions we make along the way through the years have all to do with our upbringing.  Therefore, parents and guardians bare a huge responsibility. The Light of Peace

The Art of Aloha…

When in doubt, be the light.  When saddened by one’s own perceived limitations, be aware every one of us is the light of our own  life.  We can’t be all things for all people.  We can choose to be the best we are, and that is what makes a difference in being at peace with oneself.

Twenty-eight years ago, I welcomed the responsibility of planning the monthly programs for the Erie County Medical Auxiliary in Pennsylvania.  Exactly twenty-seven years ago today, February 7, on a Thursday, our gathering entitled TALENTS AND INTERESTS of Our Own Members, took place at 10:00 AM in my home.  Is it a coincidence I searched to find the album today?
As I recall, I encouraged as many ladies as possible to participate in the event designed to bring us closer to one another.  Eighteen of them though somewhat reluctant at first, did in fact open their hearts to shine.  The photographs in my possession walked me through a treasure chest of a time gone by.
Heavenly Bandora strummed by an Angel…

The art of cooking together with displays of a collection of antique dolls, and another of Santas while there was a real Irish step dancer, a bandora player, a piano concert with a vocalist, a display of leather and beads handwork, four artists of paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylics, and a table with handcrafted paper mache creations, a colorful and elegant quilter, a seamstress of dresses, a Ukrainian array of decorated eggs surrounded by intricate cultural accent needlepoint, and dearest to my heart the crewel works of a remarkable member.  Trust poured in the sharing of interests and talents and the event still shines in my heart.

In life we make choices that may well have been written as sacred agreements too deeply imbedded for us to recognize.  Carolyn Myss wrote a book entitled The Sacred Agreements.  I still wonder why about so many things.  Does the weather really matter to people who move from a cold climate to a warmer place ?  Now that I am familiar with Sclera Derma, I know it does.  Does it have to be that serious? No, it does not.
God knows our hearts and bestows blessings that arrive even when we are unaware.  That is precisely why we are best to be in the light of goodness.  The Course in Miracles says to remember anyone you meet is a holy encounter.  The past came alive today again as it has throughout the years in quiet times when I wished I could have gathered those lovely souls again in my home for tea.  Their light brightened my life.  Their trust in participating in an event that marked their interests and talents to be viewed by all present was a gift of peace.  Therefore, when unsure about our heart’s desire, let us consider the light of peace.
